AN INTERESTING MORNING ON OFFER! September 12th is the date set for a workshop for anyone leading dance or exercise groups, as well as local folk dancers, to learn more about our traditional national dances, especially one that is becoming increasingly popular locally -Maypole Dancing. The morning has been arranged with huge support from our County Dance Adviser. We are pleased that Jane Pfaff, well known expert from London, is coming to lead the session in Countesthorpe Village Hall from 9.30 to 13.30 that Sunday morning. She will teach us some dances and inspire us to pass on enthusiasm for old favourites like sword dancing, broom dancing, and maybe even the hornpipe as well as Maypole Dancing.   There are more details on the District Folk Committee website on www.leicestershireandrutlandfolk.org.uk or contact Patsy Paterson on 0116 2776259 or pat.count@virgin.net to register for the workshop.
